EVERY CHILD HAS A TALENT AND ST. GILGEN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WILL DISCOVER IT
Our School will teach via e-learning until Easter
(10.03.2020, 17h10, St. Gilgen) In a move which mirrors that taken by Austrian universities, our school will switch to teaching via e-learning for the three weeks until the start of the Easter holidays. From Monday 16th March, all our 195 students will receive timetabled tuition from home. Thanks to both the standard technological capacity and the small class sizes at the school, it is possible to provide high quality distance teaching whilst still being able to guarantee the highest standards of safety for the whole school community.
Our Head of School Martina Mötz explains, "We did not take this decision lightly, as it requires input from our parents, students and teachers. Our students will have the opportunity to experience a completely new style of ‘21st century’ learning. Our teachers here at St Gilgen International School are innovative, and are preparing to make their ‘virtual lessons’ interesting, informative and to spice them up with a good dose of humour as required.” Teaching staff will provide lesson material on a daily basis using specific and proven e-learning software already used by our school community. This ensures a smooth educational path for the next few weeks.
There have been no suspected cases within the school, and this measure has therefore been taken purely as a safety precaution to protect our whole school community and to ensure that education can continue uninterrupted.
