Medical Information

Insurance *

All students at Summer Camp must be in possession of their own medical insurance policy prior to attending. In addition, it is advisable to obtain an accident insurance policy. Students from Austria can use their E-Card, whilst students from within the EU may use their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for obtaining medical care (some services require payment; parents are advised to check the detail from the issuing country). Students from outside the EU must have private medical insurance (to include dental cover).

Infectious Disease Outbreak *

In the event of an outbreak of Pandemic Flu or other infectious disease StGIS will follow national and international health advice regarding immunisation and treatment. Parents will be contacted with more information in the event.

Administration of Homely Remedies

Homely Remedies are medicines and treatments that can be bought ‘over the counter’ from a pharmacy, without needing a pre- scription. The School Doctor has approved paracetamol tablets, anti-inflammatory gel, throat lozenges, herbal cough medicine, bite/sting relief gel, and anti-diarrheal probiotic agent (Bioflorin). Homely Remedies are stored in the Medical Room, Boarding Houses and held by Trip/Activity Leaders. Administration is by the House Staff, School Nurse, Trip/Activity Leader and identified First Aiders following approval from the School Nurse

Consent to Emergency Care (Including Anaesthetic)

StGIS will make every effort to contact parents in the case of a child requiring emergency medical or surgical intervention. In the event of parents not being reached, or an emergency where the decision to treat must be made immediately, the accompanying member of staff may be required to give consent for treatment, including an anaesthetic. The school will act In Loco Parentis in these emergencies. This covers all students (day and boarders) and extends to educational trips, visits and all school activities.

StGIS Summer Camp Code of Conduct

We strive to ensure that St Gilgen International School Summer Camp is a very special place, a truly inclusive environment where children of all ages and backgrounds have the opportunity to become part of a wider family and where trust is fostered and rewarded.

Code of conduct Accceptance *

Our Code of Conduct is based upon mutual respect and tolerance. StGIS Summer Camp is about safely having fun, making friends and trying new and positive experiences. We insist that our code is followed at all times.

StGIS Summer Camp fully supports the Anti-Bullying Campaign and will not tolerate bullying of any kind at our camps.
For the safety and well-being of all staff and campers, we reserve the right to decline and/or cancel a booking of any child at any time during the Summer Camp if in our reasonable opinion the behavior of the child is disruptive, dangerous, or incompatible with the general enjoyment of other visitors.
Campers can bring mobile phones with them, which will be in safekeeping in security boxes at the camp office and given to the children to receive calls from home during specific times. We recommend that mobile phones are fully insured under the parent’s own policy.

Conduct deemed inappropriate includes, but is not limited to:

1. Bullying (in any form).
2. Leaving the site/ village/ activity unless accompanied or agreed by a member of camp staff
3. Threatening behavior, foul, offensive or insulting language to other campers or camp staff
4. Consumption of alcohol
5. Involvement with illegal drugs
6. Smoking
7. Entering accommodation used by the opposite sex or fostering an inappropriate relationship with another camper
8. Willfully leaving the boarding house without good reason after lights out
9. Theft, vandalism or illegal activities
10. Accessing and/or publishing inappropriate or offensive content on the internet/social media
11. The possession of knives or weapons
12. Consistently not following instructions given by camp staff

I consent to my personal data as gathered on the event application form (including, but not limited to, Name, Date of Birth, contact details, next of kin, and relevant medical / health information etc.) being collected, stored and transferred as necessary to ensure the efficient, effective and safe running of this camp. I understand that all personal data will be deleted after the event, except that data necessary for event followup (for example, name and contact information); which will include email circulations with information relating to similar camps in the future.

Signing this declaration, consent is provided for the use of photographs, moving images (videos) and other digital media for the purposes detailed:

The student and his/her legal guardian hereby consent that photographs and moving images (videos) taken of the student may be used for marketing and communication purposes such as reports of events on the school website, weekly informative emails, social media etc., until such consent is withdrawn.

I declare that the information given in this application form is accurate. I understand that my child’s place may be withdrawn if this information is false or inaccurate. I agree to the conditions of acceptance, I agree to the terms and conditions and programme expectations outlined in the Summer Camp brochure/ website. I understand that St. Gilgen International School reserves the right to withdraw a student due to behaviour which is considered inappropriate or in violation of the programme expectations. Such event will result in the withdrawal of any offending student immediately without refund of any portion of the Summer Camp fee.

A non-refundable deposit of EUR 500.00 is required to confirm your booking for the Summer Camp 2023. Full payment is expected by 19th June 2023. Cancellation in writing up to 19th June 2023 will be refunded at 50% (excluding the EUR 500.00 deposit). After this date, no refunds will be given, except in the case of illness, emergency, event of force majeure or legal restrictions to offer the camps . The application for a refund after 19th June 2023 will have to be accompanied by documentary evidence of the illness or emergency and the school reserves the right to approve or decline the refund. Once the decision has been made, no further arbitration will be entered into.

StGIS recommends short-term travel insurance for unforeseen cancellation, loss of luggage/personal items and medical expenses (if you are not already covered by the Austrian Health Service). Please check possible travel restriction in relation to Covid-19 pandemic.

Payment *

I agree to the following statement:

Costs for the Summer Camp two weeks programme is 3.800 EUR and for the four weeks programme is 7.600 EUR. Please not that there is an additional charge of 400 EUR for the Golf Programme. Sibling discount is 10%. In the following page you will be directed to our payment service to initiate the deposit payment of 500 EUR. After completed you will receive official confirmation confirming your place on the chosen Summer Camp Programme. The remaining amount must be paid in full at least 4 weeks prior to the start of the camp.
Enrolment confirmation will follow via email. If you don't receive a registration confirmation email, please check your junk email inbox.
Joining instructions will be distributed four weeks prior to the Summer Camp.
