Visiting Speaker / Tim Burns

July 24, 2020 @ 16:00 18:00

Designed for students (and their parents!) in all grade levels, this presentation is highly informative, engaging and—by all reports—very enjoyable. Offered in hundreds of schools across the U.S., as well as dozens of international schools around the world, students and parents consistently offer praise for the presentation as “news one can use,” to improve academic, athletic and creative performance.

Recent studies indicate that when students learn how self-changing the brain actually is (the scientific term for which is plastic), this knowledge can serve as strong motivation to put forth their best effort in pursuit of academic, athletic and artistic goals. In addition to important BrainGain Tips this dynamic, enjoyable presentation conveys to students specifically how to take advantage of the plasticity-effect to improve learning and per- formance. The presentation is modified according to student age level, grades 2-12.

Tim Burns is an educator, presenter, consultant and author specialising in brain development.

This presentation provides parents with important tips on how to best support the exciting brain changes taking place throughout childhood and well into the teen years. Topics include the brain plasticity-effect and how best to encourage it, along with such brain-basics as the role of diet, hydration, downtime and sleep in facilitating enhanced brain integration and learning consolidation – plus a great deal more.
