We are pleased to invite you to the tenth, St. Gilgen International School, Inspiring People Evening on Monday, 16th of April at 19h30.
‘StGIS Inspiring People = Inspiring people, inspiring people’
An education is not an education if it fails to prepare young people for the future. At St. Gilgen International School, we prepare our students for life, not only by teaching them reading, writing and arithmetic, but by helping them find their individual ‘path of excellence’. The path of excellence is a path that seeks growth; it is a path that interacts creatively and imaginatively with the world; it is a path that engages completely and courageously, yet responsibly and sustainably; it is a path that is ambitious and adventure seeking; it is a path of compassion, and of care for self, others and our world.
Our inspiring speaker is somebody who has embodies this 'path of excellence' and also somebody with a vision for the future that we can all share in.
The not-for-profit foundation Wings for Life was established by the two-times motocross world champion Heinz Kinigadner and the Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz in 2004. Its goal is to find a cure for spinal cord injuries. Therefore, the foundation funds research projects and clinical studies around the globe. Anita Gerhardter is the CEO of Wings for Life. She coordinates all the activities of the foundation, initiates projects and manages strategic partnerships. Wings for Life and its goal is very close to her heart.
In her speech she will talk about:
Imagine … Suddenly - within a split second - you can’t move or feel your body anymore. In the hospital, you’re told that you suffered a spinal cord injury and your chances of recovery are next to zero. The life you once have known is over, your dreams and goals from now on will be different ones because each and every day you have to fight and master the hurdles, obstacles and constraints a spinal cord injury brings along.
Wings for Life was founded to change the lives of people living with this devastating injury for the better. We are a not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation. Our mission is to find a cure for spinal cord injury. And you can be part of the solution...
Our inspiring evening will begin at 19h00 in the Mozarthaus St. Gilgen and conclude around 21h00. We expect high demand for this fantastic opportunity, so please book your seats early.
